What written history has taught us is, men has very little or no mercy toward his fellow man. With the word mercy being found over two-hundred and fifty times in the Bible. Thus, showing to us that our God is indeed merciful to us sinners. Proverbs 28:13He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy. The above verse shows us a spiritual condition has to be met before God grants mercy. Jeremiah 5:25 Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withholden good things from you. When we cannot confess we have not seem God’s word in our own wicked wisdom: mercy is withholden from us. Proverbs 24:9The thought of foolishness is sin. How might we cover our sin, once God reveal to us what sin is to Him. We have never thought that sin has to do with our fleshly thinking. When we hide sin or these wicked thoughts in our hearts: this is spiritually covering it up. Deuteronomy 27:26Cursed be he that confirmeth not all the words of this law to do them. And all the people shall say, Amen. When we cannot confirm what God’s word’s mean to Him in heaven we are cursed. When we have not taken the things or His words seriously or sincerely. When we are sincere before God: we will have no other God’s in our hearts. These other God’s symbolize thoughts that we have against God words. Of course we have all hid sin in our hearts; lets the Holy Ghost reveals secrets about a man that hid sin in his house or tent. Joshua 7 But the children of Israel committed a trespass in the accursed thing: for Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took of the accursed thing: and the anger of the Lord was kindled against the children of Israel. Achan took something physical that became a curse unto the children of Israel; our cursed thing will be something spiritual. God’s words become a curse unto us when we cannot confirmed their spiritual meaning. Deuteronomy 27:26Cursed be he that confirmeth not all the words of this law to do them. And all the people shall say, Amen. God in His great mercy gives us time to bare some spiritual fruit. Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith. These things have to do with what’s being changed spiritually inside of us by the Holy Ghost. Do we have the goodness that comes from God only; is our righteous: self-righteousness? Do we have a love for the truth?  Ephesians 5:9(for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth. We love what we believe to be the truth: our own lies and wisdom about the Bible, causing us to perish in our sins. 2 Thessalonians 2:10 and with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

 PART 1

Joshua7:2  And Joshua sent men from Jericho to Ai, which is beside Beth-aven, on the east side of Beth-el, and spake unto them, saying, Go up and view the country. And the men went up and viewed Ai.   And they returned to Joshua, and said unto him, Let not all the people go up; but let about two or three thousand men go up and smite Ai; and make not all the people to labour thither; for they are but few.   So there went up thither of the people about three thousand men: and they fled before the men of Ai. The men sent by Joshua fled before their enemies because something Achan, the son of Carmi had done. Spiritually we have fled from before our enemy, which is our own wisdom. Our own wisdom in the midst of us about the Bible is a curse to us. Joshua 7:13  Up, sanctify the people, and say, Sanctify yourselves against tomorrow: for thus saith the Lord God of Israel, There is an accursed thing in the midst of thee, O Israel: thou canst not stand before thine enemies, until ye take away the accursed thing from among you. The Spiritual good thing we have taken from God’s word, and because we don’t spiritually understand it or confirmed it we are cursed. Romans 7:13Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful. When we try to understand the commandments or God’s words in our evil wisdom it become sin and spiritual death. Our enemy or the carnal mind in the midst of us has triumph. King David knew this and asked for help against his own wicked thinking concerning the word of God. Psalm 25:2Omy God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me. Millions of so-called Christians have no idea who their spiritual enemy is, themselves. What we are in spiritual shame meaning we have no knowledge of God. Paul warned us about this in the next verse: 1 Corinthians 15:34Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame. We have been spiritually asleep, and the enemy has or our own wisdom, but we only saw him as friend. The next verse King David is speaking of spiritually inside of him and not a physical foe. Psalm 55:12For it was not an enemy that reproached me; then I could have borne it: neither was it he that hated me that did magnify himself against me; then I would have hid myself from him. The Holy Ghost must reveal to all of us our own wicked thinking or counsel is the enemy of our souls. God does gives us time to be taught of the Holy Ghost to confirm His words. The spiritual Achan in all of us must confess we have spiritually wrongly taken God’s word and hid it in our evil hearts. Joshua 7:19 And Joshua said unto Achan, My son, give, I pray thee, glory to the Lord God of Israel, and make confession unto him; and tell me now what thou hast done; hide it not from me. Achan in the next verse tries to justify himself before Joshua for what he had done. Achan saw what he looked good to him and not to God. Thus Achan justified his thoughts over God's word. We are very clever in justifying the evil in making God’s word our own wisdom. Also in physical things, people justify stealing, lying, killing just to name a few physical things.  Joshua 7:20 And Achan answered Joshua, and said, Indeed I have sinned against the Lord God of Israel, and thus and thus have I done: 21 when I saw among the spoils a goodly Babylonish garment, and two hundred shekels of silver, and a wedge of gold of fifty shekels weight, then I coveted them, and took them; and, behold, they are hid in the earth in the midst of my tent, and the silver under it. At this point I wanted spiritually crave to know more about this goodly Babylonish garment. By faith I go to the scriptures seeking an answer: because every word is important to God, and they must become important to us. Babylon is first mentioned in the Book Joshua, so I search other scriptures with the word Babylon in them. We are already know later the Babylon’s people and their king would become Isreal enemy. Jeremiah 21:2Enquire, I pray thee, of the Lord for us; for Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon maketh war against us; if so be that the Lord will deal with us according to all his wondrous works, that he may go up from us. The above verse in many years before Achan had coveted the goodly Babylonish garment, and two hundred shekels of silver, and a wedge of gold of fifty shekels weight. The children of Isreal had already been warned by God before Achan took the cursed thing. The next Bible verse shows how we all are enticed by the carnal mind inside all of us. 1 John 2:16For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. Achan as unto us didn’t take heed to God’s warning; what Achan saw than [lust of the eyes] his heart was entice, he took and hid them in his tent. Joshua 6:18 And ye, in any wise keep yourselves from the accursed thing, lest ye make yourselves accursed, when ye take of the accursed thing, and make the camp of Israel a curse, and trouble it. 19   But all the silver, and gold, and vessels of brass and iron, are consecrated unto the Lord: they shall come into the treasury of the Lord
